Compression springs do not need attachment points to function
like other types of springs require. They are often a safer choice of design as when
they fail they merely loose elasticity where as a torsion or extension spring would break
and drop their load. As a compression spring is compressed the force it exerts increases
though as the coils make contact the springs ability to exert force is greatly reduced.
Compresion springs are found in many objects ranging from pens to cars and trucks, they
are often the cheapest and most reliable solution to a problem requiring a spring.
